We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to our Search Committee Members: Jill Albrecht, Gidget Brown, Joe Iselin, Ron Moersfelder, Jackie Naughton, Steve Picazo, and Katie Simenson.  We sincerely appreciate all your determination, dedication, loyalty, and commitment to this search.  We know how deeply devoted you all were, and we genuinely appreciate all of you.  THANK YOU!!!

 CHOIR & BELLS MEMBERS:
Steph Eveland and Diane Hanson are hosting a party for all choir and bells members this Sunday, July 30, after church.  A sign-up sheet was sent to all members.  The address is W2652 Long Meadow Drive, Elkhorn, WI.

CONGRATULATIONS SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS:

  • Angelina Olson – continuing student at UW Madison
  • Katherine Picaso – continuing student at UW Milwaukee
  • Marissa Post – continuing student at UW Madison
  • Joseph Schuler – continuing student at UW Madison
  • Sedona Souther – new student at UW Madison

More information about these scholarships will be in the August Epistle.

MAILBOXES:
We now have a mailbox station set up in the parlor.  The individual mailboxes include Pastor, Moderator, Custodian, etc., and our various committees.   However, if you have anything for Steph or Becky in the office, please continue to leave it in the mail holder on the office door.

MISSION TEAM NEWS:
The shoebox item for the month of July is kids flip-flops.  In August, we will be collecting school supplies.  The collection bin is in the parlor.

If anyone would like to do a cash donation to the blessing box supplies, that would be great.  We will do the shopping.  Please just make sure you mark it “Blessing Box” so that Steph knows what the donation is for.

Calling all crafters.  We are in need of knitters or crocheters to make soap cozies for our Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.  If you need a pattern, please let the office know.  This past week, Gloria Powell’s nephew’s friend made 20 soap cozies and dropped them off at church – THANK YOU!!!

Sewers are requested to make Church World Service Emergency School Bags.  The pattern can be found on their website cwskits.org under school kits or contact the office.  We would like the school bags by August 15.

Our Community Garden, located behind the Burlington Methodist Church, is always in need of gardeners.  You can help weed when you have time during the summer.  For more information, please contact Katie Simenson at 262-210-9299.  Below is a link to a video about the garden from Katie.  She has been active in this since the beginning.  All of this organic, fresh produce is harvested and donated to the Love Pantry.

EXPERIENCE BURLINGTON DAYS:
Experience Burlington is seeking volunteers for Experience Burlington Days, taking place on July 28th and 29th.  They are looking for people to help with selling ducks for the annual Duck Dash, people to monitor the Kids Corner, and help with setup and tear down.  This is another great way to get the word out about our church.  The phone number is 262-763-6044 or email info@burlingtonchamber.org

 UPCOMING TRIPS:
Please make sure you check out the bulletin board in the foyer for upcoming bus trips.  There is something for everyone!!!   Gypsy a Musical Fable, Ring of Fire Music of Johnny Cash; and Scrooge.
