HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
This Sunday, May 14 is Mother’s Day. Have a Happy and Blessed Mother’s Day.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING:
Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on May 21 following worship. We will be hearing more specifics about the Capital Campaign and voting on whether or not to go forward with the campaign. We will also be adopting an 18 month budget. Our next Annual Meeting will be held in October of 2024.

STRENGTHEN THE CHURCH OFFERING:
Don’t forget that we will be collecting for the Strengthen the Church Offering throughout the month of May.

CHURCH DINNER:
Our May church dinner will be held on Wednesday, May 24, at 6:00 p.m. The first potluck dinner held was a big success. We hope you can join us on May 24th for our next potluck. Bring a dish to pass and beverages will be provided.  Hope to see you there.

UCC & MKE PRIDE PARADE:
Emmanuel Church, in Hales Corners, is participating in the 2023 Milwaukee Pride Parade, on Sunday, June 4, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Josh Simon would like the UCC churches that are participating to walk together in the parade. He states “From my experience participating in parades in other cities, seeing many churches walking together has a profound impact on the parade attendees…I do think collectively the mass of affirming Christians together increases the impact of our witness to my fellow LGBTQ people.” If anyone is interested, please let Rev. Becky know right away so she can register our church and let Rev. Simon know by Monday, May 15.

BOOK GROUP:
Book Group will resume on Tuesday, May 16 at 1:30 PM. We will be finishing reading “You Were Made for This Moment” by Max Lucado. On May 23 we will meet to discuss Jodi Picoult’s book, “Wish You Were Here”. June – August we will meet once a month. The books we will be discussing will be decided soon.

SCHOLARSHIP:
Scholarship Application Forms are available in the office. You may also request a copy be sent to you by email or postal mail.

FROM THE MISSIONS TEAM:
We are going to start collecting items for the Blessing Box and Love Inc. Food Pantry in the downstairs entry. This way our collections will be visible to the childcare families and any other visitors who wish to participate with our donations.

The peanut butter and jelly (PB & J) collection will run the entire month of May. There is a table in the downstairs entry for this collection.

The shoebox items for the month of May are combs, brushes, and mirrors. The collection bin is in the parlor.

Please mark your calendars for our next Love Meal on Wednesday, May 17. Your contributions will be appreciated. Please call Julie at 262-492-4713.

Our Community Garden, located behind the Burlington Methodist Church, is always in need of gardeners.  You can help weed when you have time during the summer.  For more information, please contact Katie Simenson at 262-210-9299. We bring all of our produce to the Food pantry at Love Inc.
