Scripture Reading: The Resurrection
Happy Easter greetings to you all. Well, today actually is a milestone and I know some of you ten years ago were on the search committee that interviewed me and ultimately called me to be your pastor. I’m looking at Deb, I know you were in the search committee. Julie, you were on the search committee. Well, today is the tenth anniversary, to the day, of my beginning my ministry here as you’re called pastor. So it’s certainly fitting, and makes it even more fun, to acknowledge that 10th year milestone anniversary on this Easter Sunday.
That means also, that Judy and I are celebrating almost 19 years living in Wisconsin, which if you do the math, I have now officially served this church more than half of the time that Judy and I have lived in Wisconsin. In those 19 years, it took me 17 years living in our home in Bristol to finally cave and retain a lawn service to treat our lawn. I’m one of those do-it-yourselfers but I finally gave up because the dandelions just could not be controlled. So two years ago, this would be the second season, we retained the services of Weedman. Weedman is a local lawn treatment service relatively new to the area. Last Saturday, April 14th, Weedman came and applied the first of five treatments to our lawn, and yes, that was the day before Mother Nature dumped seven inches of snow on us.
