Have It in Our Heart to Forgive

I think it’s kind of interesting how we have labeled scripture over the years because this has always been known as the story of the prodigal son. By calling it the story of the prodigal son we end up focusing on all the dynamics within that family. The jealous older brother, the prodigal son who goes and squanders everything that he has after taking half the inheritance, the dad who’s trying to maneuver these two brothers and bring them together. But we have to remember how this text starts.
