Scripture Reading: John the Baptist Prepares the Way
I preface every baptism with these words, “in celebrating the family of the church, perhaps there is no other event as poignant as the celebration of new life through the sacrament of baptism.” The event of Jesus’ own baptism, therefore, becomes the paradigm for our own baptismal stories. We described baptism as the outward sign declaring the inner presence of God, a visible sign of God’s grace. Baptisms make the ordinary and everyday events of our lives into something very sacred. It’s important to remember our baptisms. Remembering our baptisms, even though if we were infants, provides a portal through which divine vibrations can energize and transform our lives.
