Be Careful What You Ask For

Scripture Reading: The Request of James and John

Well, this is not a sequel to last week’s message about letting go of stuff. For those of you who weren’t here, I talked about taming the monster in our attic, which basically was getting all that stuff down, going through it, and getting rid of a lot of it. It might not be a sequel but there’s a little lesson that is important to insert at this point. I want to point out one little by-product that can sometimes come as a result of purging and decluttering stuff. Minimally, this by-product can be a memory jogger, or the best-case-scenario, as in my case, can be a blessing. You never know what you’re gonna find when you clean out your stuff. If you’re particularly nostalgic about some things, like yours truly, you can even consider it as happening for a reason; as if someone placed an item in a time capsule for us to open on a certain day fifty years later.
