Pastor’s Updates – 03/01/2024

  1. The Plymouth Child Care Center is doing a bit better thanks to some helpful donations and hard work. They will be able to pay their rent for March. They are planning a huge 50th anniversary celebration that we will all be a part of. Part of that will be fundraising through alumni! Thanks to Jane Olisar for acting as a mentor to the board. If you have any questions about the Child Care Center, please feel free to contact myself or Jane.
  2. White Juice & Red Wine – For April communion we are going to switch to white grape juice and red wine so it is very easy to tell the difference. From my observation, we are 50/50 congregation. 50% intinction and 50% prepared cups.
  3. My move to Burlington is almost complete. Thank you for all who have prayed for me and wished me well. It has been stressful as all moves are. This week I will be cleaning out my old apartment to get my deposit returned. Please call or text me if you need to see me and bear with me—I will be back to normal office hours soon.
  4. As our commitment to children and our Sunday school grows, please notice the change in our organizational system. For simplicity’s sake, I have been calling all classes part of IMPACT. We have Lenten Adult IMPACT, Our Jr. IMPACT Class led by Tracy & Marcia, and our Young IMPACT Class which is being led by some newly formed teams! Jr. IMPACT & Young IMPACT classes both begin after the Passing of the Peace which now follows “The Message for All Ages.” Parents may pick up Young Impact members following worship. Jr. IMPACT will meet through coffee hour and have their own treats.
The Monthly Jr. & Young IMPACT Schedule is as follows:

1st Sunday of the Month: Both classes remain in Worship and are invited to communion.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of the Month: Classes meet.

We are hoping our Young IMPACT Class can begin sometime this Month. Thank you to Jill Albrecht & Nicki Friske for being one team! Thanks also to Julie Klaehn who will be teaching once a month starting in April. Julie needs a partner so that we can be within safety guidelines. We could also use a third team. Please contact Rev. Yvette if you would be willing to be in a classroom once a month. We will work around choir and bell schedules.
